| Program Notes for 4th September Second Semi Final
Program Notes
Last week saw the end of the home and away season and what a way to finish for our senior boys with a 100 point thumping of arch rival Penguin. This was a very important win in more ways than one, firstly to gain an advantage over another finals competitor and secondly to celebrate the end of our coach Troy Davies great playing career which spanned many years and several clubs. Congratulations Troy and all the best to you and your family for the future where ever that might be.
It’s finally here, September, Spring, who cares, it’s Footy Finals time the best time of the year so let’s go people no matter who you support get along to the Football and make it a year to remember for crowd participation. Today we are at Latrobe for the Second Semi Final with our Seniors and Under 19s participating, good luck guy’s give it your all and take the easy way to that final game of the year.
The Under 19s finished on top of the ladder after another good win against another final participator in Penguin by 49 points. Better players for the side were back man Josh De Ruyter, Ryan Wing, Mitch Parker and Jordan Kelly with 5 goals. Our reserves have now finished for season 2010 and can now look forward to some summer relaxation before starting the preseason. After a very competitive first half the boys failed to carry on the good work after half time, good performers on the day were Ross Hubble, Chris Haynes, Jackson Lee and Beau Thomson. The much anticipated rough and tumble senior game turned out to be a real fizzer after our boys got off to a great start keeping Penguin goalless in the first term and turning on even more pressure for the rest of the game and running out 100 point winners. It was a great team performance with very few passengers with stand out players being Jeremy Soden, Simon Vanderfeen, Shaun Knott and Tim Mee.
A reminder to all members that we have the club Best & Fairest coming up on Friday night 24th September and the Annual Dinner on Saturday 9th October, invitations for the dinner will be on their way next week. Make sure you book early to make it easier for all concerned with the catering it augers well for a big night. September 11 is the day for the NTFL awards presentations, with the Baldock Medal extravaganza at the Burnie Civic Center, if you wish to attend contact your clubs committee for information.

Former Ulverstone Premiership Player Kent Abey, now playing with Morningside in Queensland, recently appeared on the Footy Show's 'Almost Football Legends'. Kent took a mark right on the goal line and quickly kicked the ball across the line, only to find out that he was infact kicking a point and not a goal! Kent was voted the winner on the night so congratulations to Kent. We must say though your goal kicking ability seems to have gone downhill since you last kicked at the big sticks for the Robins!
