Devonport's $507,000 debt

THE future of the Devonport Football Club hangs in the balance with the revelation the club has liabilities of more than half a million dollars.A financial report tabled at last night's annual general meeting showed total liabilities of $507,525. The liabilities consist of a secured loan from the Devonport City Council of $246,990, unsecured loans of $90,810 and a loss of $66,150 for the year ending September 30. more
 
 
 

Robins President, John Deacon has categorically denied that the Robins would be interested in joining the SFL if Devonport was removed from the competition. "We are committed to the NTFL untill at least 2014.That's when we will revisit our options to reapply for entry to the SFL." "We are gearing for season 2011 in the NTFL ,we have new coaches & over 40 players attending training ,so we're very happy with things at the moment"

NTFL President ,Andrew Richardson ,also added that Devonport would be ineligible to rejoin the NTFL ,if they were deliscenced on financial insolvency grounds from the SFL ,as the NTFL was also committed to strict rules in regard to this area.

 
 
 

Mee joins Pies' nest

DEVONPORT'S late season recruitment drive continues with Baldock Medal runner-up and Ulverstone premiership player Tim Mee signing for the 2011 season. Mee was one of the best players in the NTFL last season and is a big loss for the Robins. more
 
 
 

Rodman replaces his wings

LEADING Ulverstone goal kicker Justin Rodman has signed to play State League football next year with Devonport. Rodman, 26, has been one of the NTFL's best forwards in recent years, booting 80 goals for the Robins in 2008 and 62 this year. more

 
 
 
2010 Annual General Meeting

The AGM for 2010 will now be held at the club on Tuesday 14th December starting at 7.30p.m. Nominations for the Board of Directors are available now. Information re agenda items will be posted on the website and will be available from the club closer to the meeting. There will be four vacant Director positions for a 2 year term to be elected with President John Deacon, Vice President Paul Shelly, Adrian Quaille, and Greg Wing still having 1 year to run in their term.Check back for updated details.The original date would have seen a clash with the NTFL AGM.
